The phoenix bird is a potent symbol of the many deaths and rebirths we experience in life....and our capacity to embrace transformational change. Have you lived many distinctly different lives in this life? If so, the phoenix may be one of your core archetypes. It certainly is one of mine. Each time I've "crashed and burned", I've ultimately emerged as a more authentic, heart centered being. Life is a purifier, like the flames from which the phoenix rises. Perhaps the ultimate message of the phoenix is that nothing of this world, even physical death, can threaten that which we eternally Are.
